‘Interminable’ pre-release order form (20 editions)
‘Tsitqwai’- land of the dogs known by the Yak Tityu Tityu Yak Tilhini (Northern Chumash) people hosts a magnificent 25 million year old volcanic plug that juts into the ocean taking the incessant brunt of large ocean swells while towering over a sandy bay. It is also known as Morro Rock, or ‘Lisamun’ to the Chumash and ‘Le'samu’ to the Salinan, both viewing it as sacred and home to nesting Peregrine Falcons. This particular evening, the typically clouded coast provided a brilliant sunset while a large swell continually crashed into the rock, the powerful cresting waves forced to wrap around the rock’s features, dissipating in energy and putting on colorful displays in the setting sun. Once again, the rock’s interminable existence was steadfast in the face of dynamic elements. A quality of which modern society must harness, to begin to think from a mindset of endless coexistence with our surroundings that sustainably provide, recognizing and settling into the interminable circle.
